ScooterLog — Privacy Policy

Independent app, not affiliated with or endorsed by Ola Electric. ScooterLog lets you sign in to your own electric-scooter account to view your vehicle's status, current location and (where your vehicle and the manufacturer provide it) your ride history.

What we store, exactly

When you sign in, the following are stored on our server so the app can fetch your data:

• Your account session tokens for the scooter service — encrypted at rest. These let the app read your vehicle data on your behalf. We never see or store your password; sign-in uses a one-time code sent by the scooter service.
• Your vehicle identifiers (vehicle id, registration number, variant).
• Vehicle status and location we fetch for you: current and recorded GPS positions, battery level, charging state, odometer, lock/connectivity status, with the source timestamp.
• Ride history returned by the manufacturer for your vehicle, where available.
• Your settings: charge-alert preferences and, if you opt in, your browser push subscription (encrypted).

We do not collect your phone's GPS, your contacts, your password, or any payment information. We do not sell data. We do not use it for advertising profiling.

Ads

The Android app may show Google AdMob ads on non-critical screens (never on charging or alarm screens). If ads are shown, Google's SDK may use your device's advertising ID and app-interaction data to serve and measure ads, as described in Google's policy. You can reset or delete the advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. The website may show Google AdSense ads on the download page, Home and Trips (not inside the Android app); Google may use cookies for this, which you can control at adssettings.google.com. We never pass your vehicle, location or account data to the ad network.

Who receives data

Your scooter account's own servers (to read your vehicle data), the map tile and place-name providers for the area you view (OpenStreetMap / the map service), and our hosting/CDN provider which carries the traffic. No GPS coordinates are placed in notification text.

Delete my data

You can delete everything we hold for your account at any time from Settings → Delete my data in the app. This removes your stored session tokens, vehicle records, location and ride history, settings and push subscription from our server. You can also disconnect your account, which removes the stored session immediately. Backups holding earlier copies are purged on a rolling schedule.

Retention

We keep your records while your account is connected, so the app can show history over time. When you delete your data or disconnect, the records are removed as above.

Security

Session tokens and push subscriptions are encrypted at rest. Traffic is over HTTPS. Access to the server is restricted.

No safety guarantee

Readings may be delayed or stale. ScooterLog does not control charging, lock/unlock your scooter, or act as an emergency, anti-theft or location-sharing service. Distance and battery figures are observations, not measurements of energy use or battery health.
